Holyport and Richard Williams

Holyport have given us the following update today, Saturday 9 January. Fingers crossed.

Richard Williams

To any real tennis player that may have come across The Brigands, played at Petworth or more recently been to Holyport you are quite likely to have met Richard Williams. During the Christmas period Richard has been suffering with illness and was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his brain on Tuesday. Last week they operated, hoping that they have removed the main source of the cancer. This is stage one of many more to come, but he is out of the operation alive and well. He is not quite ready to get back on the tennis court, but over the coming days they will be continuing their testing to make sure there has been no spread of the disease. We are taking it one step at a time, but are hoping that we can get him out of hospital sooner rather than later. I thank so many people already for their warm support during this difficult time.
