Grays

Grays International has been at the root of some of the best known sporting products for over 160 years, a time frame which has seen its products used by sports stars who have long since assumed legendary status.

Founded in 1855 by Rackets champion H. J. Gray and still under the control of the Gray family, the company’s heritage and record of innovation have been distilled into a powerful portfolio of brand names familiar throughout the sporting world. Grays is synonymous with racquets in the Real Tennis and Rackets world, having provided top quality racquets since the company’s inception. These are hand-crafted in Cambridge, England at Grays’ Coton factory from English timber that the company processes themselves at their Robertsbridge timber yard where, unique to the industry, their sister brand, Gray-Nicolls, grow, fell and shape all their own English Willow for their world famous cricket bats.

Now based in Robertsbridge, where L.J. Nicolls first started making cricket bats in 1875, Grays International’s brands of Grays in hockey and rackets, Gray-Nicolls in cricket and Gilbert in rugby and netball are each market leaders in their respective sports. Each are now renowned globally as market leaders in not only equipment but also clothing and footwear; with an unrivalled reputation for innovation and quality that is used at every level including by many of the world’s leading players teams and tournaments.
