Latest T&RA announcement

It is with regret the T&RA and the RPA announce the postponement of the National Schools due to take place at the Queen's Club next week (22-28 March 2020). There is currently no revised date but any updated plans will be announced on the website. The safety of the schoolchildren and the professionals is of paramount importance and at the forefront of the decision making.

It has been further decided to postpone the Brown Advisory British Open Doubles until September, provisionally 5-15th but subject to final confirmation. The importance of this event, not only as the flagship doubles championship for our sponsors but also as the final Qualifying Tournament in the current Qualifying Period, has meant ever effort will be made to fulfil this championship. The ongoing safety of all competitors and their families, along with the integrity and significance of the tournament meant proceeding was too much of a risk in the next few week as the situation in the UK continues to deteriorate.

All other events scheduled for the 2019/20 season have been cancelled, including the Mixed Doubles, the Milne Hue Williams and the Dartmouth Open (May).

HMG updated guidance

The T&RA notes the updated guidance “Elite sport return to training guidance: Stages One and Two “published by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport updated 25 May 2020”. The rule remains that 'no exercise in an indoor sports court' is permissible. For clarity, Rackets is therefore unable to recommence under this specific definition.
