Wellington College is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Rackets & Tennis Professional.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Sports department which is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Rackets & Tennis Professional for September.

About the role:

You will join on a full-time, 2-year Fixed Term basis.

The successful post holder will be responsible to train as a Rackets Professional and to coach Rackets and Tennis to all pupils, in line with the aims of supporting both participation and performance.

Key responsibilities (Including but not limited to; see job description for full requirements):

  • To work with relevant Heads of Sport to deliver coaching in line with the overall strategy for Sport at Wellington College, both in terms of participation and performance (including Saturday afternoons).
  • To work within the framework guided by the college to gain experience towards completion of The Tennis and Rackets Association Professional Certificate.
  • Support the running of on-site masterclass sessions and events, including things such as pre-season training, tours, exhibitions and tournaments.
  • Role model and support a process of coach development for all those staff coaching sports.

Pastoral

  • The opportunity to be a pastoral tutor to a set of pupils and be attached to a Boarding House
  • The opportunity to undertake Boarding and other related duties, such as Dining Hall duties and supervision duties

Person Specification

The successful incumbent must have

  • A passion for sports coaching, in a youth setting.
  • Previous experience within a performance, participation or school setting in Tennis and/or Rackets
