Bristol Real Tennis Club 25th Anniversary Team Handicap Doubles

Thursday 9th - Sunday 12th February 2023
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Bristol Real Tennis Club being open, we are hosting a Handicap Doubles team event from 9th-12th February 2023.
It is open to ALL amateur players, of any handicap. Provisional handicaps will unfortunately not be accepted. We will be reserving 16 spaces for Bristol members, and 16 spaces for visiting players. Visiting players & Bristol players will be paired together at random to create a team of four. Players will play with the partner that they entered with throughout the tournament, but as part of a team.
Teams will be split into 4 round robin groups, with the winners and runners-up progressing through to the knockout stage on Sunday 12th February. Each match will consist of 2 rubbers, with winners of the match decided by the number of rubbers won, and in the event of a tie, the aggregate number of games. If there is still a tie, the result of the first-string doubles pair will determine the winning team. The knockout stages will follow the same format.
With such a large number of matches to accommodate, please make yourself available for the Friday. There is plenty to see and do in Bristol, so make a weekend of it and enjoy the club and the city! We will provide a list of ‘things to do’ when sending out the tournament draw.
