Ben Cawston retains singles title and regains 2017 doubles title alongside partner Tim Armstrong
16 players came to Clifton for the weekend and the doubles play was divided into two round robin boxes. Some enjoyable and competitive doubles matches resulted in main draw semi finals of J Blackburn / T Shields vs I Utkin and D Stone and B Cawston / T Armstrong vs T Probert / D Kent, the former being the successors in both. The final saw Cawston and Armstrong beating Blackburn and Shields in two sets to love.
The plate final went to three sets where T Bomford and V Scott-Geddes were successful in a tight match, overcoming J Rendell and H Don.
B Cawston retained his undefeated singles title for the fourth consecutive year, resisting a strong effort by T Bomford.
T&RA Rackets Committee Chairman Rory Sutton handed out the prizes.
