Fundraising Appeal to Help Promising Young RT Player Overcome Melanoma
Find out how you can help Archie Watson, who has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
Friends and family of Archie Watson are appealing to the Real Tennis and Rackets community to help support the rising young player, who has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
At just 18, Archie is the U18 National Schools Champion and has won both the U17 and U19 French Open titles. He has worked tirelessly to pursue his ambition of competing at the highest level of the game.
The day after competing in the U21 British Open in December, Archie had a biopsy done on a mole and shortly after was diagnosed with malignant melanoma. Since then, he has undergone multiple surgeries and extensive treatment after the cancer was found to have progressed to Stage 3. Despite this, he has shown remarkable courage and determination while continuing his A-Level studies and focusing on his recovery.
A fundraising campaign was launched to help support Archie and his family with the significant costs associated with his treatment, specialist care and travel to medical appointments. The fundraising page can be found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-archie-watson
UPDATE: Just days after Archie's Go Fund Me campaign was launched, the fundraising goal was reached! However, the next stage of his treatment and recovery will continue to bring significant costs that place a considerable burden on the Watsons, so additional support would be greatly appreciated should you still like to contribute.
