Invitation School U18 Singles 2013 - Congratulations Henry Mullan
B Grade
David Parry (Clifton) won group A, beating Charlie Stevens and Eddie Hyde (Tonbridge & Cambridge) while Felix White won group B, with convincing wins over Henry Batstone and Benedict Yorston (both Radley). A good quality final was won by Felix 6/2 to qualify for the A grade. Charlie Stevens claimed 3rd sport, beating a much improved Henry Batstone, while Eddie Hyde won 5th spot over Benedict Yorston.
A Grade
Felix White acquitted himself with some honour, but few games to show for his efforts against much lower handicapped opponents. Henry Mullan
(Clifton) came from 3-4 down to beat George Buckley (Radley) in a fine match, while George failed to quite reproduce the same quality against Sam Willis (Highgate & Seacourt). Sam then played a very determined final against Henry Mullan, recovering from a terrible start to almost catch him at 5-5. Henry's implacable defence, especially on the volley, eventually saw him prevail 10-5 after an hour's play to claim his first title.
