Kevin Sheldon Retirement

A legend retires after 45 years service to Leamington

Kevin Sheldon has decided to step down as Leamington's Head Professional from September 2014. Kevin's withdrawal will be staged - for the subsequent six months or so, he'll work part-time, thereafter he'll attend as required, on an ad-hoc basis.

Kevin's association with the Tennis Court Club stretches back to 1968 - when it was a very different place indeed. Members, Committees, Club Stewards - indeed, Chairmen - have come and gone over those 40-odd years; Kevin Sheldon has remained throughout.

For almost half a century, Kevin has been the voice and face of Leamington; it was he who made and answered the calls and he was the first – and often the last – person one would see when visiting.

Kevin's personality and influence helped the club evolve into the 21st century - and LTCC has inevitably shaped Kevin's life in turn. The 2014-15 season will see the club celebrate a man who has helped make Leamington what it is today, and several events will be organised to celebrate his career, culminating in a dinner on court in his honour in May.

If any T&RA Member would like to contribute, please send a cheque to LTCC with Kevin's name on the back please.

The T&RA wishes Kevin all the very best for the future, and our thanks for his impeccable service over the last 45 years. Much more will be said and written about Kevin over the coming weeks and months.

Kevin Sheldon
