A short tribute to Richard who passed away on Tuesday

RICHARD MICHAEL McNEIL WILLIAMS died peacefully on Tuesday 13th November. He was born on 27th March 1945 and trained as a Chartered Accountant. He had a love for racquet sports and for some years owned and ran a squash club called The Willows in Godalming. Having disposed of the club in 1999, he joined Petworth House Tennis Court and became a passionate Tennis player, involving himself in many aspects of the club. He managed the Brigands and over the years he played countless squash and Tennis matches for them. His culinary skills were greatly appreciated at home matches. He was pivotally involved in the very successful staging of the World Real Tennis Championship at Fontainebleau in 2008. In his last months, he was lovingly cared for by his mother Noel; he leaves a daughter Sarah and a son Angus, who is a Tennis professional at Holyport.
