It was an action packed first day of the Silver Racquet with some great tennis being played in the Qualifier. There were four matches that went to three sets which meant the last match of the day did not finish until 11pm.

Therefore the four qualifiers going through to the Main Competition are Neil Mackenzie (Q1), Horatio Cary (Q2), Alex Evans (Q3) and Tom Seymour Mead (Q4).

As Chris Chapman withdrew from the Main Competition with a damaged ankle following his exhibition match against Bryn Sayers at RTC on Wednesday evening, it was decided to replace him with a Lucky Loser. The Lucky Loser is Zak Eadle.
