Van Alen, Clothier and Limb Cup 2023

The United States is hosting the Van Alen, Clothier, and Limb Cups (VACL) from 6-11 July 2023.
The Westwood Country Club (Vienna, Virginia), will hold the premier International Junior Tennis Team event. The biennial tournaments are comprised of Juniors under 26 from the U.K., USA and Australia and rotate between countries. Each country’s team includes 4-6 players. The U.K. team includes Rory Giddins, Henry Mullan, Max Truman and Will Flynn.
The schedule:
July 11 & 12 – Limb Cup – Australia vs. U.K.
July 13 & 14 – Clothier Cup – USA vs. Australia
July 15 & 16 – Van Alen Cup – USA vs. U.K.
Four Single matches will be played on the first day of each pairing, followed by four Doubles the next day. If a tie occurs, a fifth doubles match will be played.
Before the team competitions, all players will compete for individual Honors in the U26 Singles and Doubles to be played at Westwood on 7-9 July.
The International team matches are very historical, with the Van Alen Cup dating back to the 1950s. Over several days, many cross-border friendships are born and the majority ending on friendly lifelong rivalries!
All the Tennis matches will be live-streamed on the USCTA Youtube Channel. (The UK is 5 hours ahead) and match updates are being posted the following week.
As well as the tournament happening, there are also sporting events, dinners, and other fun social activities going on at the same time.
