WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2020 COVID-19
With the continued uncertainty surrounding the restrictions of holding an event as large as the challenge; global travel restrictions, restricted spectator levels, health and safety amongst the players and spectators alike the International World Championship Committee (IWCC) have reconvened and are calling once again for a postponement until 2021.
The challenge week will commence on Monday 3rd May with the match days on Tuesday 4th May, Thursday 6th May and Saturday 8th May.

Official Statement from the 2020 World Championship Committee at Prested Real Tennis Club
Due to the unprecedented global spread and impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the International World Championship Committee (IWCC) Executive
of Jeremy Wintersteen, Susie Falkner and Andrew Gould, along with the heads of the national governing bodies of Real Tennis, it has been decided in
the best interest for all that the 2020 World Championships be rescheduled till October 2020. We have the full support from 2020 World Championships
Committee, Prested Tennis Club management team, all sponsors and associated third parties.
The new dates will be:
Day 1: Tuesday 20th October, Day 2: Thursday 22nd October & Day 3: Saturday 24th October 2020, followed by Championship Gala Dinner on the evening of the 24th October.
We would hope that all of those involved will fully support this decision which has not been taken lightly. These are extraordinary times and we face an
extraordinary challenge. Our first priority has to be for the health and safety of every person involved - spectators, organisers, players and their
families alike.
ALL TICKETS ARE VALID FOR THE REVISED DATE
Confirmation of all tickets with the rescheduled dates will be emailed to all ticket holders over the next 2-3 weeks
A note from the Prested 2020 World Championship Committee:
First and foremost, nothing is more important than protecting the health of our players, local and international attendees, volunteers, sponsors, vendors and everyone who is involved with the event, this is of paramount importance. We are unanimously supportive of this directive and would like to make the transition as seamless as possible, taking into account both our overseas visitors and our U.K supporters. We have been actively contacting suppliers, sponsors & event venues to ensure that the October event will be amazing.
Accommodation
We have negotiated with accommodation partners to have a free of charge move across to the new dates*. Please contact the hotels directly &promptly to confirm these changes and your new dates.
