* The British Amateur Doubles Championship 2026

In the quarter-finals, the biggest shock was the scratch pairing of Tom Seymour-Mead and Brook Hazelton defeating the #3 seeds Will Flynn and Rory Giddins 6-5 in the 3^rd set. Rackets Amateur Champions Mike Bailey and Nick James then ran #2 seeds Ed Kay and Jamie Giddins close also, saving match points in the second set before eventually succumbing 6-5 in the 3^rd.

The semi-finals went according to seed, bringing together in the final the 5 time champions Kay and Giddins against the #1 seeds Robert Shenkman and Bertie Vallat. The result was a titanic battle finishing 5-6 6-1 4-6 6-3 6-3 with 3 hours of drama on the Queen’s East Court. Kay was outstanding in all 4 corners of the court, seemingly indefatigable defending countless balls hit at the dedans and in the forehand corner. 

Despite taking a 3-0 lead in the 5^th set, Shenkman and Vallat were pegged back to 3-3. A long deuce game ensued before some great side wall picks from Vallat edged the #1 seeds ahead 4-3. Sensing an opportunity Shenkman and Vallat then pulled ahead and won the match 6-3 in the 5^th. Thanks were given to Ben Ronaldson and the Queens Club for organising and hosting the event and most importantly to the 22 players who played their part in a thrilling weekend.
