* Category B Open Championships (Level Singles for Handicaps 10-19) 2025

Three players dropped out of the tournament at the last minute, but credit to Baudouin Huynh-Lenhardt, who travelled from Bordeaux despite recovering from the flu! He went into the tournament as the favourite but had a tough start losing to the home court pro in 3 sets. Nick Jamieson (last year's 15-19s winner) hit the floor running, beating Nigel Pendrigh and Jez Brodie in quick succession. Sam Legg also got off to a great start, beating Nigel and Baudouin…at one point scaring the crowd and breaking the dedans with a straight force.

Sunday saw Nigel teaching Jez how to play left-handed, followed by the match of the tournament, Nick vs Sammy…by this point both players had worked out the court but Nick managed to find chases a little bit sooner than Sam, giving him the edge. Baudouin came back on Sunday a different player, and managed to pick off Nigel’s aggressive returns. Sam was behind in the first set against Jez, but managed to take the lead and carried the momentum to seal the second set. By this point, both Sam and Nick had won 3 matches each. Baudouin played some beautiful tennis and the games were very close, but having the trophy in his sights gave Nick the edge to win the 2026 Cat B.
