Claire beat Lea in a thrilling final at the Oratory to win her seventh world singles title, held since 2011. Claire now overtakes Penny Lumley (six titles) as the most successful player in the women's game.

Earlier, rising star Cesca Sweet had beaten Katherine Carney 6/0 6/2, to win the inaugural Under 19 Girls World Championship.

The final match of the day saw Claire team up with Tara Lumley to take on Lea Van Der Zwalmen & Saskia Bollerman. A magnificent final which ended 6/4 6/5 to Claire and Tara, but they were made to fight all the way in what was the closest final in recent times, and a tribute to women's Tennis. Once again, this is Claire's seventh world doubles title and Tara's second. Lea and Saskia take much away from the encounter and will certainly be back stronger.
