Local legends Colin Sprott and Tom Shrager dominated the round robin group phase of the Over 40’s Amateur Level Doubles, dropping just 5 games across three matches. Sunday’s 3rd place play-off swung one way, then the other and couldn’t have been closer. Well done to Nigel Pendrigh and Paul Norris for edging out RTC’s James Sohl and Tom Freeman 6/5 5/6 6/4. Our showpiece final then saw Prested’s Peter Holmes and Matt Potter show immense character to get revenge on Sprott / Shrager following an 8/2 defeat in the group stage. Holmes / Potter saved match points in the second set to claim the title 4/6 6/5 6/4.
