Kids welcomed onto Real Tennis Courts for free this Summer School Holiday

Jul 03, 2023

The Tennis & Rackets Association (T&RA) and the Dedanists’ Foundation have once again partnered to create a programme that allows junior Real Tennis newcomers to have a go at the sport for free over the school summer holiday.

Sitting on the beach is fun, but so is trying out Real Tennis! That’s why the T&RA, in conjunction with the Dedanists’ Foundation, is pleased to announce the continuation of a holiday scheme that encourages juniors to take up the game of Real Tennis over the upcoming summer break.

Both the T&RA and the Dedanists’ Foundation are committed to introducing juniors to Real Tennis, knowing that the long-term survival of our game relies on young people discovering the sport. We partnered to get more youngsters on court over the Christmas and Easter school holidays and it was a massive success! The initiative offered a free, one-hour taster session for juniors at their nearest Real Tennis club, and 64 youngsters signed up at 16 different clubs to experience the game for the first time.

Now, the T&RA and the Dedanists’ Foundation’s latest summer holiday scheme follows the same setup, offering newcomers between the ages of 10 and 18 a free, one-hour “have a go” session at the nearest Real Tennis club signed up to take part.

If you have a youngster who is looking for something interesting to do over the Summer break, complete this signup form and we will give you the contact details for your nearest participating club where you can have a go at Real Tennis for free. If you require any further information please contact the T&RA at or the Dedanists’ Foundation Ambassador, Paul Weaver, at

The Dedanists’ Foundation is a grant-giving charity (No. 1145526) created with the sole aim of increasing youth involvement in Real Tennis. The game has too few young players and the organisation’s aim is to get young people impassioned about the sport and to harness the enthusiasm, knowledge, and skills of the game’s professionals and its clubs.
